This tool re-saves the PDF with object streams enabled and can strip embedded metadata. That often yields a smaller file without altering visible content.

What it cannot do

It does not re-encode images. For PDFs dominated by large scanned images, the reduction may be modest. For those cases, converting scans to image-only PDFs first helps.
